In what would be a piece of very exciting and welcoming news for German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, they have confirmed that left-back Alphonso Davies has returned to full training since sustaining an injury before their pre-season friendlies.

The Canada international defender picked up a serious injury to his ankle while away on international duty with his country and was ruled out of their remaining games in their Gold Cup competition. He was also not able to recover in time to join up with the rest of the Bayern Munich squad and hence he did not participate in any of the friendly games that Bayern played in the off-season.

Davies is a very important player to Bayern, and they provided him with a lot of medical support to facilitate his quick recovery from the injury as they cannot afford to not have him start the new season with them. He was one of their most important players last season as they won the Bundesliga title in what was a great season for them. He also played a role in helping the German giants reach the knock-out stage of last season’s UEFA Champions League campaign even though he could not help them avoid a disappointing defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

He is considered as one of the untouchable players in the squad who the club will not be looking to let go of anytime soon, alongside star striker Robert Lewandowski. Bayern confirmed via their social media pages and official website that they have welcomed back the pacy defender to the squad and he will now join them in preparing for the new season which starts in just a few days as they will be looking to retain their Bundesliga title and also make a strong push for Champions League glory.
