Wales manager Chris Coleman has stated that he will retire after the 2018 World Cup campaign.

The manager has enjoyed unprecedented success with Wales at the Euros where he has brought them to the semi-final, and he said that would continue until the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Chris Coleman stated that he would be ending his Wales management career at the end of the campaign whether Wales make it through to the finals or not. He believes that he has been a manager for quite some time now and that it is time to take a break from the Wales national side.

He said that there is talent in the Wales side and that the team is still young. He stated that he would give his best in the World Cup qualifiers so as to help the team make it to Russia. Wales will be starting their World Cup qualifier on the 5th of September and will be facing Moldova.

Chris Coleman said that it is a pleasure for him to manage Wales and that he wants to go to the end of his contract. He stated that he does not want to take advantage of Wales success and use it as a stepping stone to get another contract elsewhere. He stated that he would finish what he has started in Wales and hopes that he can take the team to Russia.

He admitted that the qualifiers would be hard especially with what they have achieved at the Euros. He believes that all the other teams will be motivated when they face Wales as they will want to beat one of the Euros best performers. He said that teams would adapt their tactics to counter Wales, and they may have problems to break teams down.
